On 28 and 29 of October 2019 an ordinary Meeting of the ELFA Board of Directors took place in Edinburgh. In this meeting, several issues were discussed such as the evolution of memberships in our association and the opening of the call for proposals of the 2020 ELFA Summer Courses. Moreover, the Board also engaged in the re-launching of the European Journal of Legal Education, as a key instrument for the discussion of topics related to legal education.

Additionally, the members of the Board focused on preparing the programme and activities of the next ELFA Annual General Meeting and Conference, which will be held in Warsaw. Next year’s Conference will be devoted to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of ELFA, and it will be held in the capital of Poland from 22 to 24 April 2020. At the next Conference we will commemorate ELFA’s history, highlight its achievements, and address its future challenges.

Soon you will receive more information about next year’s Conference but for now remember to save the dates!

Furthermore, on the same 28 October 2019, representatives of the ELFA Board, several Universities as members of the Association and the French École Nationale de la Magistrature held a meeting also in the capital of Scotland, focusing on the European Jurist Network, project promoted by ELFA, and in which our Association is highly committed.

In this meeting good progress was made towards the preparation for the Jean Monnet Network application in early 2020. The aim of this project is to enhance legal education by infusing legal studies with the ethical values and skills necessary to become a European Jurist. We wish to thank all the participants for their work and valuable contribution, and we will inform about further progress about this application!
