The ELFA Board would like to inform all Members of the following: "Dear ELFA Member, As you know, the Annual General Meeting and Conference of our Association, which were scheduled to take place in Warsaw from 21 to 24 April, had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 disease outbreak. Currently, a number of restrictive measures remain in force in most countries, and the circumstances do not make it feasible to organise a new on-site Conference in 2020. Therefore, and according to the provisions of Dutch law, the 2020 Annual General Meeting that our Association must [...]

“The European Law Faculties Association has been an excellent forum for law professors, mostly deans or “dekans" not only from Europe but from all around the world, to discuss problems facing law faculties, ranging from admissions policies to various teaching methods, curriculum, cooperation projects or joint research. Now, 25 years after the foundation of ELFA, and in the extraordinary circumstances we are currently living, we can recall what was stated in the 2015 Istanbul Conference Resolution, that law faculties in Europe and elsewhere find themselves at the crossroads of directions for their future development to respond [...]
“Since the first time I participated in Graz in 2005, I have attended all of the ELFA General Conferences to date. ELFA was then a relatively young organization, but its function was already proving to be relevant in the process of implementation of the European Higher Education Area. Nevertheless, after the culmination of this process, ELFA has also continued to offer great advantages to its members, providing a privileged forum for reflection, debate and exchange of knowledge, information, experiences and contacts, personal and institutional, on a European scale that responds perfectly to the phenomena of increasing [...]

“In 25 years, ELFA has managed to bring around the same table of discussion heads of faculties of law across Europe in an unprecedented exchange of ideas and analysis of the structural changes that have affected the law curriculum throughout Europe. Fostering solutions that can be implemented by individual leaders in their home faculty and national university institutions has certainly been one of the main achievement of ELFA. I hope that such work will continue to the benefit of us all.” Pascal Pichonnaz University of Fribourg ELFA President, 2008-2009

“Dear ELFA members, We were about to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ELFA in Warsaw these days. Unfortunately, we cannot come together in these special times. But we can still look back from where we are to 25 years of European dialogue and we can see how relevant our work is. The current situation – as dramatic as it is – has once more highlighted the necessity to coordinate projects, knowledge and education on a European Level. At our law faculties all over Europe, we educate people who – by applying and by creating law – set [...]
