We are pleased to announce the next edition of the CCBE amicus curiae contest 2024, an initiative organized by the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), which is closely link with ELFA’s purpose of promoting progress and improvements in the field of legal education.

The CCBE amicus curiae contest is a yearly competition, which is addressed to law student and trainee lawyers, in CCBE countries’ members. The contest consists of a fictitious amicus curiae brief submitted by participants to be selected on a competitive basis.

The contest aims at raising awareness of the CCBE work to future European lawyers by emphasizing the essential role of lawyers in the construction and defence of the rule of law and by providing practical experience to law students.

The languages of the contest are English and French.

The winner of the contest will also be invited to an award ceremony and to participate in a CCBE plenary session, which next year will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland.

All the information about the contest and how to participate are available on the CCBE website: https://www.ccbe.eu/actions/events/amicus-curiae-contest/.

We are sure that this information will be of great interest to all ELFA members and their students!
