Congratulation message from former ELFA President Pascal Pichonnaz

May 30th, 2020|Announcement|

“In 25 years, ELFA has managed to bring around the same table of discussion heads of faculties of law across Europe in an unprecedented exchange of ideas and analysis of the structural changes that have affected the law curriculum throughout Europe. Fostering solutions that can be implemented by individual leaders in their home faculty and national university institutions has certainly been one of the main achievement of ELFA. I hope that such work will continue to the benefit of us all.” Pascal Pichonnaz University of Fribourg ELFA President, 2008-2009

Congratulation message from former ELFA President Heribert Hirte

May 13th, 2020|Announcement|

“Dear ELFA members, We were about to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ELFA in Warsaw these days. Unfortunately, we cannot come together in these special times. But we can still look back from where we are to 25 years of European dialogue and we can see how relevant our work is. The current situation – as dramatic as it is – has once more highlighted the necessity to coordinate projects, knowledge and education on a European Level. At our law faculties all over Europe, we educate people who – by applying and by creating law – set [...]

Congratulation message from former ELFA President Norbert Olszak

April 28th, 2020|Announcement|

“Happy Birthday ELFA ! The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the European Law Faculties Association reminds me of the year 2004 when I had the pleasure to welcome its conference at the Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg. The association was quite young at the time but already very active, and we had lively discussions in the “Pangloss” lecture hall, which was full. This name “Pangloss” was chosen for that hall because it is used by the Institute for Translation and Interpreting Studies, whose translation services were very useful to us. But above all it made [...]

Congratulation message from former ELFA President Hilmar Fenge

April 17th, 2020|Announcement|

“In 1995 when we founded ELFA, there was a widespread understanding and partly even euphoric acceptance of the European idea all over the continent. Throughout the countries, across the border learning from each other and cooperating in building up new structures of common engagement overturned step by step the old deep routed nation bound routines. Now twenty-five years later, we are confronted with some kind of monstrous decay in this respect. The year started with the gloomy Brexit menetekel; stimulated by anti-European slogans, one of the most important countries left the European Union after a long [...]
